Footway width, quality and height on Grove St mean wheelchair users need to use the road

Issue
The combination of narrowness, adverse camber and a lack of dropped kerbs (or other level access) on the corner of Pulteney Bridge and Grove St mean that wheelchair users need to spend an extend period of time travelling on the carriageway in heavy and sometimes fast-moving traffic.

Opportunity
Creating a raised entry treatment (where the carriageway and footway are level for a small area, with appropriate tactile demarcation) at the mouth of the South end of Grove St would allow wheelchair and scooter users easier access to the footway and provide more space to maneuver when going around the corner. It would also slow traffic entering and leaving Grove St. A dropped kerb at the end of the peninsula between Grove St and Spring Gardens Rd would also assist Wheelchair and Scooter users on this route.
