Tactile paving can be difficult to cross for wheelchair users

Issue
Wheelchair users can often find crossing tactile paving a challenge. Some feel that corduroy presents less of an issue than blister but others feel the reverse.

Opportunity
Tactile paving is essential for some people with sight loss to determine boundary of the footway and carriageway where they meet at the same level and needs to be at least 800 mm deep to be reliably detected. Where the depth is greater than 800 mm there may be opportunities to reduce depth to 800 mm.
