The steps at the North end of Union Passage have no contrasting tonal information to indicate their presence causing people with sight loss to register them as a single surface.
Opportunity
Paint or nosings of a contrasting colour could be applied to step edges to help people with low vision whilst corduroy tactile paving could be deployed at the top and bottom to give a tactile warning of the steps.
