Quite often they are not even aware that there is a cycle path present.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Cyclists do not respect pedestrians that have mobility issues, they get too close, and\/or go past too quickly and don\u2019t understand I can\u2019t get out of their way.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>[lead_text]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Examples<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>[\/lead_text]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A contraflow cycle lane placed alongside the footway and of a similar material\u00a0is not distinguished clearly. This\u00a0creates <a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/135339267#t=17s\" target=\"_blank\">confusion for pedestrians<\/a> who are unaware that they are walking on or crossing a cycle route at the top of Cheap Street. Bollards make the situation worse as cause obstructions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-240\" src=\"http:\/\/rossatkin.com\/bathaudit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/720-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"720\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/rossatkin.com\/bathaudit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/720-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/rossatkin.com\/bathaudit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/720-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/rossatkin.com\/bathaudit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/720-400x300.jpg 400w, http:\/\/rossatkin.com\/bathaudit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/720-720x540.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>[lead_text]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Recommendations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>[\/lead_text]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Encourage\u00a0code of conduct for cyclists with peer monitoring by cyclists&#8217; groups and organisations and appropriate signage.
